Interior Design, DIY, and Refurbishing

Our Master Bathroom Reveal

I can’t tell you how many years that we have saved up and waited to complete this bathroom renovation. The time is finally here and I’m loving the way that everything came together! If you remember our little flood that I accidentally caused when I left the water on in the laundry room, that’s where the story begins. If you see the hole in the ceiling in the “before” pics…that’s where the rain came through the ceiling. We are thankful that this is the only hole that needed to be cut after the flood. Everything else was able to be dried.

I knew that I wanted a white, fresh, crisp feel in our new layout and that is just what we have. I love it!  We started by painting the walls with White Dove Benjamin Moore. I was ready to get rid of the brown. It may not look dark in the photos but it was definitely weighing down this space. We also had new flooring placed throughout the house and carried it into our master bathroom as well. The nice thing  about these gorgeous Mannington Floors is that they can get wet for up to 72 hours and be just fine. The durability is amazing!

I’m so thankful for the opportunity to partner with so many great companies on this bathroom renovation…Birch Lane (mirrors), Oceanside Glass Tile (Glass Tile), Build.com (Fixtures), Sinkology (Tub), Barn Light Electric (Gooseneck Lights), Mannington Floors.

Here are a few “before” shots of this space. I had painted this vanity years ago and we framed out our large builder grade mirror. This was our version of a cheap and simple fix until we had the funds to complete the large renovation.

We are not hoarders, but most everything in our house is on top of this counter. Well, at least a lot from our bedroom/bathroom.

I liked the framed out mirror that we had initially (in the before photos), but I desired 2 mirrors instead of one. I initially started looking for mirrors on Craigslist. I thought that I would be able to find 2 vintage mirrors to fit perfect in this space, but the more I looked, nothing showed up. I began looking elsewhere and when I came across these mirrors from Birch Lane with their gorgeous curves, I knew they were exactly what I had been dreaming of.

Working with Oceanside Glass Tile was such an amazing part of this bathroom reno! They started by emailing me a mood board. After a few exchanges, I settled on this beautiful 2″ x 8″Outro glass subway tile in Satin Iridescent. It is a beveled edge subway tile and has a bit of a silver iridescent finish, but is such a subtle iridescent. For the shower floor, I selected a 1 3/8″ Hexagon Mosaic Muse pool tile with a custom non-iridescent & white matte color blend. I am in love and would highly recommend this tile and their company! I simply cannot say enough good things about this tile or the experience I’ve had working with them!

The glass shower enclosure was quite the beast to install. Thank goodness for our wonderful workers. They did an amazing job! The shower enclosure only comes in a chrome or brushed nickel finish, so prior to installation, my hubs actually had to spray paint the shower frame and hardware to get the oil rubbed bronze look to match our new fixtures and claw foot tub.

Sinkology outdid themselves with this beautiful hammered copper clawfoot tub! The detail work on this tub is second to none! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen more gorgeous claw feet on a tub! I love how they blend in with all of our oil rubbed bronze fixtures and how the tub contrasts and brings out another dark color-tone that jumps out from the white subway tile on the walls!

I’m not kidding when I say that Chester asked to get in when I opened the door to take photos. He’s a natural when it comes to wanting a bone, or a carrot. Build.com has some amazing products and it was so hard to choose from all their amazing fixtures. I finally decided on this amazing Brizo shower system, complete with a Traditional Collection goose neck Shower Valve Trim Double Handle with TempAssure Technology and Traditional Collection detachable Hand Shower Package with Slidebar, Hose and Wall Supply (Venetian Bronze finish). The vintage/antique shape of all of these fixtures sure does give me heart eyes.

The antique look of these Brizo “Tresa” faucets in Venetian Bronze fills up my vintage-loving heart. I love old-style faucets and was thrilled to find such a beautiful vintage look from Build.com.

…Another space that Chester thinks he owns. I’m surprised he hasn’t jumped right into the hammered copper clawfoot tub! I know I can’t wait to light some candles and relax in here. Sinkology has so much to offer, from tubs, to sinks, faucets, etc. We also have a sink and faucet from Sinkology in our powder room. When we use the copper armor kit on our powder room sink, it just shines. I love all of the copper products that they offer.

The beveled edge on the subway tile from Oceanside Glass Tile sure does give this wall so much added texture. I’m so happy with the decision that we made for this smaller subway tile look…and the contrasting shape of the hexagon mosaic tile on the shower floor is even better than how I imagined it would turn out. I would install this tile over and over a million times!

This raincan shower head by Brizo is one of the things that I can’t wait to turn on! We are going to seal the tile again before we use it. I’m pretty sure that we aren’t dirty enough to ever get this shower dirty anyways so maybe we shouldn’t. Aaaaand, I hope you know I’m kidding. It rarely rains in Tucson, but it will be raining in our shower!

These Gooseneck Lights, from Barn Light Electric, have been a favorite of mine for a long time and when we decided to use one in our powder room, I knew that they would be a perfect match for this space too! I’m in love! Give me all the geese! If we hadn’t already had granite installed years ago, I would have chose a quartz counter top. But, I don’t see a need for these counters to go, and I think it works well with the other browns that we have going on in this space.

The Baliza Collection wall-mounted tub filler with hand shower by Brizo (in Venetian Bronze) really finishes off the look of this tub space! I love how it pops against the Outro Satin Iridescent tile.

What did I tell ya, he’s ready…..for a treat. He just couldn’t wait to get his paws on this tile.

Thank you so much for following along our bathroom renovation on Instagram. I am so pleased with the way it turned out and I’m so glad that we waited so long to complete this so that we could afford more of what we were dreaming of. It definitely fits my expectations and was well worth saving up! I would love to hear what you think! Happy Day, my friends!

This bathroom is the best renovation I have seen in a bathroom makeover. Everything is perfect. I love copper and the tub is too awesome for words. The two mirrors with wood finish are perfect too. The subway tile is simply gorgeous. Chester is just the finishing touch to your bathroom! So happy your dreams came true for this long waited project.

I removed the old shower head and install new DreamSpa in about 5 minutes, Upon turning the water on to the DreamSpa it Blew apart and was just dangling from internal wiring. Wish I had a video.
Strange thing is, they are OK.

We have a couple more lights to add, I want to figure out a way to cover the electrical box in the corner, and we might reface the storage above here and then we should be done, oh and maybe add a wood ceiling 😊 I’m just putting it all out here so Trav can see it and not be surprised for the upcomings. The end…of me, maybe. oh, and the stairs? Those lead to the creepy dark attic (hvac and other stuff) where hopefully there is no people living. #brickfloors #laundryroommakeover #laundryroomideas #laundryroomdesign #antiquefurniture #farmhousesink #castironsink
