My Vintage Porch

Interior Design, DIY, and Refurbishing

Almost Finished With Our New Mannington Floors!

The plastic may still be in place but we are coming along, my friends! We are nearing the end of the construction and on our way to cleaning up and putting everything back in place. I can’t say ENOUGH GOOD THINGS about our new Mannington Floors! They are what dreams are made of! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to parter with Mannington Floors on this project. They have been so amazing to work with on every aspect!

I’ve had some questions of why we chose wood laminate over wood tile look or wood floors. You would never know by looking at this flooring that it is not real wood and I’ve already had so many ask how we are going to keep from scratching our real hardwood floors. That is the biggest reason that we choose wood laminate. We have three kids and a dog, and I knew there would be a lot of traffic and play on these floors. Scratch resistant is just what we needed. I also love the real look and wood feel that wood laminate gives over wood look tile. I’m so in love with the rich texture and character! It is made in the USA, environmentally friendly, scratch resistant, and indentation resistant! I’ve already tested this out by dropping things while trying to move things from place to place with all of the construction, and it’s true…no dents. The quality can’t be beat! AND, it is spill shield protected which means it will not be damaged by ordinary spills and pet messes that are removed within 72 hours. And, Chester decided to test that out for all of us too. They cleaned and wiped up like a dream.  Restoration Collection® is FloorScore® certified and meets stringent indoor air quality standards, which is very important to us. The 25 year warranty has me feeling pretty great about the durability of these floors too! The color of my flooring is Fairhaven Brushed Natural and it is the Restoration Wide Plank Collection. The wide plank is one of my favorite things about this flooring too! I love the character that it adds as well. And, thank you for helping me choose a color, here. There are so many great colors and options that they offer and you can see all of the different colors in this post.

The pallet wall in our tv area goes so well with the new flooring. I can’t wait to get our house put back together! You can see details of our diy pallet wall project, here.

Although our kitchen has a long way to go before we can call it clean, these floors make it feel so much more clean and fresh. The white cabinets pop against the character of these gorgeous floors!

Our pantry may need organized but who cares, right?! When I can sit and stare at these beautiful floors, all my pantry worries just swim away. I love my kitchen so much more now, after our new floors were installed.

Chester is tired too. He’s not too happy about all of the changes and the renovations going on but I’m sure he will adjust and love his new floors too.

Just for a little before and after fun…BEFORE

AFTER:

I can’t wait to show you the progression after we get everything cleaned up and put back into place. And, thank you so much for all of your sweet words about our new flooring! I just love you guys! It’s been a long time waiting for the floors of my dreams and I can honestly say that I would choose Mannington Floors a million times over!

I would love to hear what you think of our new flooring and if you have any great suggestions for cleaning wood laminate floors! Thank you so much for stopping by, my friends. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Wow! What a transformation! I love all the colors they used in those planks, it’s a light color but has some very warm tones. It looks great with the pallet wall and kitchen cabinets! And a 25 year warranty is unusually long for a laminate, thanks for sharing that, it’s good to know! And Chester just seems to go with everything, so cute!!

Do you have any pictures of the stairs against the floors? I noticed you had dark stairs. Did you redo the stairs too? We need to replace our wood floors but don’t want to mess with the stairs! They are in oak (bleh) so need something to compliment them.

I haven’t taken any photos of the stairs against the flooring yet but I will in the future. They are a lot darker than our floors but I don’t mind it and I think they look good and bring out the darker colors of the character in our new floors. I was nervous about that too but it turned out great.

Floors look amazing! Did you lay on top of the tile or did you remove the tile? What’s that process like. I’ve heard removal of tile can be a nightmare?!

We removed the tile, it actually wasn’t as bad as I had heard it would be

(Swipe over) We couldn’t decide either so we just got both...said the wish monster. 🤪We don’t have room yet but I’m hoping for a nice big hutch like one of these to be part of our kitchen in our build. @antiquitieswarehouse has the best stuff!! Our kitchen to come may be a little outside the norm and I’m super pumped about it! Oh, and lots of you wondering the cost of this hutch...let’s just say if you could have a new car or a new hutch, which would you choose? I’ll take the hutch! 😃25K for this puppy #antiquehutch #antiquefurniture

Yay for fun projects and for just plain fun! 😁🐶 #samspartner #gallerywall #photowall
Mirror, done! What color was your guess? Were you Mirror, done! What color was your guess? Were you scared watching stories? No hot pink or turquoise ...I just wanted it warmer with more gold tones and I love it! It looks older and more realistic now...not so plasticity like before. I’ll show you some close ups in stories soon and will show how I got the old layered look...it’s even better in real life person! #standingmirror #rusticdecor
Do you think I bent the jigsaw blade? 😬 (swipe Do you think I bent the jigsaw blade? 😬 (swipe over) It was worth it all none the less. This was a “bench in a day” project. The thing that took the longest was refinishing it, the rest was cake...after we fixed the boards that Bob the Builder messed up. It will eventually go in the hallway. I hadn’t added the screws here yet bc I was running out of daylight to get a photo but check stories and I’ll show you how I’m (I mean Trav) is putting it together. He insisted on helping me when my arm fell off from all of the refinishing. What a sweet guy! ♥️ #rusticbench #diybench
Did you see this huge undertaking in stories and t Did you see this huge undertaking in stories and the plucking of the eyebrows with a needle nose plyers? Talent🙋🏼‍♀️ Stupidity 🙋🏼‍♀️I may not have any fingerprints left but the hutch is done and I’m in love!!! (Swipe over) 45,872 hours later and I have a hutch like no other. Can you believe I added layers of texture to this thing, painted it, didn’t like it, decided to sand it to the nubbins, white washed it, and then glazed it?!?! 🤩 Yeah, most of you probably know me too well by now...I’m nutso and I know it. Now to decide if I should put the original hardware back on or change it up. I’m thinking I’m loving the look of the old hardware on it. What do you think? And, I’ll let you in, if you bring grain free brownies...or cupcakes...but I prefer the brownies🤔. And, I would share my grain free pretzels with you...After crying about Hallie forgetting my pretzels that one time, I now have about 10 bags fully stocked at all times. 😂 #morepots #thegoodkind #antiquepots
