Walking In A Turkey Wonderland

I hear a lot of mixed reviews of when it’s “ok” to put out Christmas decorations. I personally feel that it’s whenever it floats someones boat…whatever puts you into the holiday mood…whenever someone chooses for their home to look like Christmas. It’s the same for style differences in my opinion. I decided this year for Thanksgiving to mix a little winter and a little Thanksgiving decor all together. It’s what I like to call my Turkey Wonderland. It’s the best of both worlds. I thought I would put my mix of decor suggestion out there in case you are struggling with not wanting to go all out for Christmas yet, but getting a little itch for a change from all of the pumpkins. I love my “turkeys in the forest” table scape. They are wild turkeys, what can I say? They love living in the forest.

And, do you see my park bench there that I picked up yesterday? It makes me feel like I’m sitting on a park bench watching the turkeys go by.  I can’t wait to see all of your seasonal Thanksgiving and Christmas decor. I hope you enjoy my dining room tour. Gobble, Gobble! You can find a full source list of this space at the end of this post.

You are amazing!! I love a turkey wonderland!! It’s the perfect way to change up the pumpkin patch to almost-but-not-quite holiday decor!!
Your style gets me every time! Love everything you do! Perfection!

I love the mix of Thanksgiving and winter! I always leave up my fall decorations until the day after Thanksgiving because I host Thanksgiving Day. The day after that is the big scramble to take it all down and get up the Christmas decor because I also host Christmas Day. Your post has given me a lot of inspiration to subtly mix in some not-so-blatant Christmas decor and and get a little bit of a jumpstart! Thank You! (Btw I LOVE your Instagram stories)

Just found this and wondered how I missed it. I was “moving” into my “winter home” (park model trailer) in Florida. I simply love your outside patio and what you can accomplish there. Living in the Midwest and not having a protected area, I have not been able to create such a beautiful patio. Your Turkey Wonderland is so neat – love your creative mind and what you accomplish with the simplest of things! Can’t wait to view your Christmas ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Today, after over 30 years, I learned that I don’t know how to Amish cuss! (See stories if you’re confused) Trav has believed I knew how for over 30 years too….I guess he also believed me when I told him that it was my uncle in the Barney purple dinosaur costume. Now let’s all Bish Shtill about colonoscopy prep, until I’m finished. 🤫 ok, that’s all…and this is an antique coffee grinder on the side of the cabinet there…I know that’s true for sure. #coffeegrinder #beforeandafter #kitchen #smeg #antiquerug #antiquecoffeegrinder #caribou
(Swipe over to see the shelf and the before of thi (Swipe over to see the shelf and the before of this space) We turned this “used to be workout room” from the previous owners into our laundry room, so we could have more space since the other laundry room they had was so small. We have a couple more lights to add, I want to figure out a way to cover the electrical box in the corner, and we might reface the storage above here and then we should be done, oh and maybe add a wood ceiling 😊 I’m just putting it all out here so Trav can see it and not be surprised for the upcomings. The end…of me, maybe. oh, and the stairs? Those lead to the creepy dark attic (hvac and other stuff) where hopefully there is no people living. #brickfloors #laundryroommakeover #laundryroomideas #laundryroomdesign #antiquefurniture #farmhousesink #castironsink
What do you think of our cool wonky shelf? I love What do you think of our cool wonky shelf? I love it!! Trav might only need a washer and dryer to do laundry, but it’s going to take a lot more to keep me in here…maybe I should add some snacks too…and a cat 🤔…and a puppy🤔 Just some lighting to finish and a few things with the storage above this and we should be done in here. #laundryroom #shelfie #shelf #barnwoodshelf #drinkingfountain #laundrycart #brickfloors #brickwall

I can’t believe how perfect this cabinet fits ba I can’t believe how perfect this cabinet fits back in that corner, under the tv!! It’s like it was meant to be. It found me, at the thrift store. ♥️ And, if you watched stories, did you notice the candle holders that I stripped on the cabinet? #tv #brickfireplace #antiquebuffet #antiquerug #samsungframetv
I almost forgot how much more crowded it was befor I almost forgot how much more crowded it was before we took out that wall 😳…no regrets, we love it!! Can you see all the changes and did you notice the little hole in the wall that led to their dining room for serving things through the wall? Little did they know, they were helping us out with demo 😁 #brickwall #saltillofloors #woodceilings #antiquerug #kitchenrenovation #kitchencabinets #kitchenisland #kitchen #smeg
