I’ve talked about these amazing blinds, that we have in our upstairs, on my Instagram stories a little bit and have had so many questions about them so I thought I would answer your questions right here. The biggest question I have had is, “what color and style are your blinds”? I chose these blinds because of the beautiful natural fiber. I think that they add the perfect amount of texture to this space. The color is Bali Oak and the style is Designer Reserve Woven Wood Shades.

I love the way that they retract on their own with no cords attached! I have always loathed the cords on the blinds that I currently have in my downstairs. These new blinds from Select Blinds are so easy to use and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more gorgeous blind. I also love that they come with the option of having liners. They offer both darkening shades and lighter weight liners that still allow the light to come through. I chose the lighter liner for my blinds. This room is my kids living room area/playroom and I wanted this space to be bright and cheery, while keeping some of the strong sunlight out that we get here in Tucson. The liners also help to protect your furniture and carpet, etc. from fading. I have had some ask if the liners show from the outside. The entire back of the blinds are lined with a lighter white colored fabric, so from the outdoors they do look white. This is also an extra to add on to your order when purchasing.

I love that these blinds add some “color” and different texture to this space. You can find the post of how I faux bricked these walls here. I absolutely love how they turned out. It was well worth all of the work. These walls changed the whole dynamic of my entire upstairs.

I made this reading nook for my 2 daughters behind our upstairs stairwell. My 14 year old still loves to come up here and read. And I have to say, sometimes my son sits back here too. He may not love to read but still likes to hide sometimes. I love that these blinds can now shade their space if they choose to have it shaded. They think they are fun to play with since they are so easily retractable. We had to have the “these are not a toy” conversation already.

What would a kids area be without tiny little finger prints all over the computer screen, right? This is a pretty grown up space for my 3 kids but they love it. It’s so much more “homey” since I updated this space and at their ages, that’s what they enjoy the most, relaxing and hanging out and playing games/watching TV. It makes my design heart happy because I was able to turn our upstairs landing into another living room. You can find the tutorial of my faux concrete painted wall here.

Here is a view of the blinds pulled all the way down. They fit perfect and each and every blind was perfect to size when they arrived.

I guess you could say that Chester feels right at home too. He just loves to be where the action is and believe me, there is definitely a lot of that here.

Thank you so much for joining me for a little tour of my upstairs living/kids area. It was such a fun project to complete and we all love spending time here.

(#sponsored) Who knew the moon and stars could be (#sponsored) Who knew the moon and stars could be so bright?! Blackout Serena smart shades by @lutronelectronics for the win! These shades have so many cool and top of the line features… they run on their own smart hub, so even if our Wi-Fi goes down, our blinds still work, and we can use them no matter where we are from the Lutron app. We love these shades so much and are glad we can sleep peacefully at night in the actual dark now! #SmarterWithSerena #smarthome #smartshades #smartlighting
(#sponsored) I’m in love with our new/old additi (#sponsored) I’m in love with our new/old addition of an antique bed headboard above our window and our new Serena smart wood blinds by @lutronelectronics. We chose to switch out our other shade for this amazing Serena smart wood blind (in light oak), and it fits in perfectly! Stripping the old trim wasn’t my favorite job in the world, but I’m so glad I did it — our house was begging for it to be done 😁 and I’m so pleased with the result. The coolest part about the Serena smart wood blinds is the Natural Light Optimization feature, which automatically adjusts the blind’s tilt throughout the day based on the sun’s position and our location. I love that we can set scenes and schedules and use them from the Lutron app, no matter where we are! #SmarterWithSerena #smarthome #smartshades #smartlighting
